Viewing lanterns is an important traditional folk custom during the Spring Festival in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Starting from January 12, 2024, the Nanjing Zhonghua Gate City Wall Show will be staged punctually every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 18:30, 19:30, and 20:30. Transportation Strategy: ●Bus: It is a relatively convenient mode of travel, about a seven to eight-minute walk from Laomendong to Zhonghua Gate. ●Self-driving: Parking spots nearby are quite tight, it is recommended to plan your route and parking spot in advance. Ticket Strategy: ●Daytime Ticket (45 RMB): If you enter before 17:00, you can buy a daytime ticket and go up the city wall to take photos with the lanterns. ●Evening Ticket (starting from 78 RMB): If you enter after 17:00, you need to purchase an evening ticket. Best Strategy: ●Before 17:00: Buy a daytime ticket to enter, go up the city wall and take photos with the lanterns. ●17:30: Wait on the city wall for the Laomendong giant dragon to light up (it is recommended to be in place ten minutes in advance). ●18:00: The city wall lights up, enjoy the night view of the lanterns, and the opposite Dabaoen Temple is also lit. ●18:15: Return to the entrance, the performance area is on the right side of the first barbican, where the performance is a self-narration of the city wall, lasting about eight minutes. ●18:30: Go to the second barbican, watch the middle performance first, then the sides. ●19:00: Continue walking forward, the high platform on the left is the venue for the last performance, where beautiful girls will dance.
