How to get there: 🚅High-speed rail: Shantou Station (I recommend choosing Shantou Station, which is closer to Nan'ao Island, 33km, about a 45-minute drive). Take bus 161 directly to Nan'ao Island. Chaoshan Station (Chaoshan Station is 60km away from Nan'ao Island, about a 1 hour and 20 minute drive). Take the Chaoshan-Shantou route bus to "Shantou Passenger Transport Center Station" and transfer to bus 161 to Nan'ao Island. ✈Airplane: Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport (about 61km away from Nan'ao Island, about a 1 hour and 20 minute drive). Take the airport bus to "Shantou Passenger Transport Center Station" and take bus 161 directly to Nan'ao Island. 🚗Self-driving: Search for "Nan'ao Island, Shantou City" on the navigation system. 🚌Bus: Shantou General Bus Station, Shantou Passenger Transport Center Station, take bus 161 directly to Nan'ao Island. 🏠Accommodation: Front-line sea view: Kemidao Apartment (Shanhuihui) Front-line mountain view: Guijingyuan Inn Artistic style: Litianju B&B: Kemidao Baini B&B 📍Suggestion: The price/performance ratio of housing on the island is relatively low, and rooms are in short supply during holidays, so you need to book in advance. You can be more flexible during non-holidays. You can search for rooms around "Qing'ao Bay" and "Houzhai Seaside Road" by yourself. 🍜Dining: Huiyu Seafood Restaurant Kemidao Diamond Bar Day 1 1. Enter the island and climb the Nan'ao Bridge 🛣It is 9km long and the estimated travel time is 15 minutes (speed limit is 60, do not speed, there really are speed cameras). If the weather is good, you can roll down the car window to enjoy the salty sea breeze and use your mobile phone to record the beautiful scenery of the "long sea dragon". ⛳Nan'ao Bridge toll price: Small cars with 5 seats or less, round-trip toll is CNY 96, free on statutory holidays. 📍Suggestion: Drive along the island road. There are many bays along the way with blue seas and blue skies. The scenery is beautiful. You can choose a suitable place to park and get off the car to enjoy the beautiful scenery without affecting traffic. 2. Qing'ao Bay ⛳The most beautiful bay in Nan'ao Island, known as "Oriental Hawaii", and there is also the Tropic of Cancer Landmark Tower here. Qing'ao Bay is a tourist attraction. Recommended activities: Daytime: 🌅Watch the sunrise, 🏊‍♀swim, 🏄‍♂rent a jet ski. Evening: 🏖Listen to the sea, 🍢barbecue, 🍵Kung Fu tea, 🎆watch fireworks ☕Kung Fu tea set: General price: CNY 100, including tea set, a serving of tea, 1 table and 4 stools. Use the most traditional "fire charcoal stove" to boil water, then brew a pot of mellow and rich Dancong tea, listen to the sound of the waves and watch the fireworks. If you want a quieter place with fewer people, I recommend another bay next door: Zhuqi Bay, located next to Qing'ao Bay, about 3km away. ⛳Zhuqi Bay This beach is clean and the sand is soft. Compared with Qing'ao Bay, I prefer this bay. 📍Suggestion: Navigate to "Zhuqi Bay" to reach it. 3. The vast sky The phrase "the vast sky" is not an exaggeration to use here. The view in front of you is wide and clear. When the visibility is high, you can overlook the entire Shen'ao Bay, and have a panoramic view of Lieyu and Tayu. ⛳Navigate to "Houhuayuan Village", park your car in the parking lot, and walk along the road signs to the mountain road for about 10 minutes (if you are not sure, you can ask the local villagers). Day 2 1. Offshore islands—Dingpeng Island and Qinpeng Island Dingpeng Island Dingpeng Island is an affiliated island of Nan'ao Island, 15 nautical miles away from the main island. The scenery is pleasant and the sea water is clean. It is rich in marine life, including clown fish, corals, sea urchins, sea snails, sea cucumbers and many other marine organisms, making it suitable for diving. It only takes 30 to 40 minutes by speedboat, which is very convenient. Dingpeng Island is the most beautiful original island around Nan'ao. The visibility of the sea water here can reach five or six meters. Sea snails, sea urchins and sea fish can be seen everywhere underwater. It is surrounded by the sea on all sides, and you can experience a 360° panoramic sea view. Qinpeng Island Qinpeng Island is located about 13 nautical miles southeast of Nan'ao Island. It takes about 45 minutes by speedboat. It is rich in marine resources, with many sea urchins, sea snails and fish. The sea water is crystal clear, making it a good place for snorkeling. ⛳You need to make an appointment in advance to go to Dingpeng Island and Qinpeng Island, and the trip depends on the weather conditions. It is not suitable to go to sea if the wind and waves are too strong. 📍Suggestion: Generally, May to October is better. The water is not cold, there are more sunny days, and you can have more fun. You can also go to the island in other months, but you cannot snorkel. Sightseeing is the main activity. The time is generally from departure in the morning to return in the afternoon, and the whole process is about 6 hours. Average cost per person: CNY 600–800 🧢Protect yourself from the sun, wear a hat, long sleeves, and cool sunglasses! 🕶 The sea area around Nan'ao Island is a marine natural reserve. Everyone is responsible for protecting the environment. Day 3 1. Go fishing at sea Going fishing at sea is a more primitive fishing method. Put down a fishing net of about several hundred meters, wait for tens of minutes, and then haul the net for more than an hour. Going out to sea is generally near the sea, and the wind and waves will not be too strong. The small fishing boat is equipped with stools for passengers to sit on, and can generally carry 6–8 people. The experience lasts for about 2–3 hours. The caught seafood belongs to the guests. You can not only enjoy the sea view and the sea breeze, but also enjoy being a fisherman and experience the life of a fisherman at sea. Catch all kinds of seafood, taste the fruits of your labor, and enjoy the gifts of the sea! But I have to give a warm reminder, it is not recommended to experience it when the wind and waves are strong, as it is easy to shake and cause seasickness. 3. Watch the sunset The most beautiful sunrise, and even more beautiful sunset. The sunset is infinitely beautiful, but it is only near dusk. The moment the sun sets on the sea is the most beautiful scenery left in my heart. Sit quietly on the reef and wait for the end of the sunset. The sunset on the island has a special flavor. Sitting and daydreaming or taking pictures are ways to enjoy leisure. 📍Suggestion: The location to watch the sunset is the beach on Houzhai Town Seaside Road.
