Shantou | Nan'ao Island

Nan'ao Island, once plagued by pirates, is the only island county in Guangdong Province and is known as the 'Hawaii of Guangdong.' It is highly recommended to drive to Nan'ao Island. When you drive onto the Nan'ao Bridge, the scenery on both sides of the bridge is stunning! (Photos 6,7) 1. The wind turbines on Nan'ao Island are located on high coastal areas, facing the blue ocean, surrounded by beautiful and pleasant scenery. These wind turbines are not only beautiful landmarks but also symbols of local renewable energy. The area around the wind turbines is an ideal spot to watch the sunrise and sunset. (Photos 8,9) 2. Qing'ao Bay on the east side of the island is the most beautiful beach on Nan'ao Island. 3. The Tropic of Cancer Plaza features a landmark tower called the 'Gate of Nature,' standing on the horizon. Every year at noon on the summer solstice, when the sun shines directly on the Tropic of Cancer, the shadow will pass through the center of the sphere on top of the 'Gate of Nature' and cast onto the center of the platform, creating a 'shadowless' phenomenon!
