Life advice: This niche coastal road trip is breathtakingly beautiful.

At the end of February, as the weather warmed up, my friends and I took our kids 👶 on a seven-day road trip from Fujian ➡️ to Guangdong, driving 🚗 south along the coastline. Feel free to copy it.🤣 💫Round trip: Chengdu to Quanzhou ✈️ Jieyang back to Chengdu 🚙Picked up the car at Quanzhou Airport, returned it at Jieyang Airport Day 1️⃣: Quanzhou 🏜️Half city fireworks, half city ethereal, with profound Minnan culture📖, a stunning coastline🌊, a historic old town, and all kinds of delicious food 🍜 and snacks. Route➡️West Street - Kaiyuan Temple - Bell Tower - Zhongshan Road. You can eat all kinds of snacks along the way. Day 2️⃣: Quanzhou + Xiamen In the morning, we went to the Maritime Museum⛵️, the Gold Coast, and the Gallo Temple. It was very windy 🌬️ this season, only suitable for taking pictures📸, nothing much to do. We took some photos and left.🌞In the afternoon, we set off for Xiamen. Day 3️⃣: Gulangyu Island Gulangyu ferry tickets need to be booked in advance. The 20-minute voyage is very fast, with seagulls🕊️ following along the way, very romantic. You can hire a tour guide for 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ a day to take you all over Gulangyu Island🏝️. We took it slow, just wandering around the island. Day 4️⃣: Xiamen Route: Kinmen Island + Xiamen University + Coastal Road See Kinmen Island from the sea. A 40-minute boat ride will allow you to see the slogan "Three Principles of the People, Unify China." Xiamen University🏫 requires reservations at least three days in advance. Tickets🎫 are released at fixed times on the mini-program, so you have to be quick. You can take your kids to experience the atmosphere. Day 5️⃣：Nan'ao Island🏝️ I regret not staying for two more days. It's so beautiful. ❗️Route: Just drive around the island, the whole journey is 65 km. Follow the map and play and take pictures along the way. The lighthouse and 23 degrees north latitude are must-sees‼️ Day 6️⃣：Nan'ao Island + Shantou We got up early and went downstairs to the beach🏖️. The kids had a great time playing in the sand and exploring the shore🤣. In the afternoon, we set off for Shantou. Day 7️⃣：Back to Chengdu 🏨Accommodation recommendations: ➡️In Quanzhou, you can stay near West Street at Atour Hotel. It's very convenient for dining and shopping. ➡️In Xiamen, I recommend staying in Siming District. We stayed at the Conrad, which wasn't very cost-effective. ➡️On Nan'ao Island, stay in Houzhai Town. The beach is downstairs, and it's very convenient for daily life. ➡️Shantou is relatively small, staying in a chain hotel is fine. 🍲Food recommendations: ❗️Quanzhou: Wen A Shui Wan (meatballs), Shuimen Guozai Noodles, Ginger Duck Taro Cake ❗️Xiamen: Zui Yi Hao Seafood Restaurant, Conrad Ludao Xuan Restaurant (Michelin Guide restaurant) ❗️Nan'ao Island recommendations: Pang Xi Snack Bar, Jinlong Seafood Restaurant, Fu Ke Lai Beef Brisket Rice and Noodles ❗️Shantou recommendations: Xinghua Wuji Beef Hot Pot, Marinated Raw Seafood (look for places with good reviews), I ate it twice and didn't get sick, Fermented Bean Curd Chicken Wings 😎I really like this coastal route between Fujian and Guangdong. Next time, I plan to take another road trip for a more in-depth experience.🛣️🚐
