Wonderful Experience at Hyatt Regency Kamala Beach

In August this year, our family, including our 9-year-old daughter, spent three amazing weeks at Villa Park Sun Island. This marked our sixth visit to this outstanding resort, and we keep returning for several reasons: 1. The ocean is always warm and tranquil. We love swimming and snorkeling. Even if it's windy on one side, the other side remains calm. Snorkeling near the Italian restaurant is a must—it offers stunning views of colorful fish, and occasionally, you'll spot a moray eel or small, harmless reef sharks. 2. Beautiful nature. The island is abundant with palm trees, flowers, and unique plants. We suggest visiting the Green Fingers Garden. The island is also spacious enough for a morning jog—it's about 3.07 km around, which is rare in the Maldives. 3. Spacious and cozy villas with direct ocean access. Most villas (besides Sun Villas and some less ideally located Beach Villas) offer direct paths to the ocean, great for anytime swimming. 4. Delicious and diverse food. We relished trying different cuisines. We dined at South Star Restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, where the soothing atmosphere and friendly service made every meal special. 5. Excellent organization. Numerous perks that come with fees at other hotels are complimentary here—sunbeds by the villas, daily drinking water in the room, coffee/tea/water at meals, and access to a top-notch gym. Everything here is well-organized and thoughtful. 6. Great Kids Club. It's free, with staff speaking many languages and a host of fun activities. Our daughter enjoyed pizza-making at the Italian restaurant, kite flying, and various creative games. She sends a big thank you to Judith, Vika, Seni, Aiman, and Arun for their kindness and engaging activities. ❤️ The true gem of this resort is its people. We know the hotel team reads these reviews, so we wish to express our deep gratitude to the wonderful people who make each vacation unforgettable. 7.1 Sana – our amazing host and dear friend. Sana has looked after our family during all six trips. Before we arrive, she reaches out on WhatsApp, recalls our preferences, and finds perfect solutions. She helped us select the best villa, surprised our daughter with thoughtful gifts, and even sourced an inflatable pool when unavailable in stores. Sana is kind, attentive, highly professional, and speaks excellent English. She’s more than just hotel staff; she is a part of our family’s Maldives story. We foresee a bright future for her as a manager, and the hotel will be proud. Thanks, Sana, for your hospitality, care, and warmth. 7.2 Rachael – the heart of South Star Restaurant. Our daughter befriended Rachael, South Star Restaurant's supervisor. Rachael has a knack for creating a joyful atmosphere and making people smile. She speaks exquisite English and has an infectious personality, inspiring her team to provide outstanding service. Rachael, we love and thank you from our hearts! 7.3 Our fabulous waiter – Noor Alam. Noor Alam is professional, courteous, and very attentive. He remembers our preferences and pays attention to details, making guests feel welcome and relaxed. Thank you, Noor Alam, for your excellent care each day. 7.4 Talented chef – Nilan. Nilan crafted fruit plates like art and created outstanding homemade ice cream. He always went above and beyond, delighting our daughter and us. Nilan, thank you for your kindness, creativity, and heart. 7.5 Foysal – the breakfast and good mood master. He prepared the tastiest omelets and pasta, and his warm humor brightened every morning. Thank you, Foysal—you’re the best! 7.6 Kajal and Senthil – amazing chefs. Their steaks match Michelin restaurant quality. They even cooked white fish specifically for our daughter, even when it wasn't on the menu. Thanks for your skill and care! 7.7 Special thanks to Chef Amith for a delicious, balanced menu, salad chef Kawsar for his signature salad, Santana for friendly interactions, and Shaiful for perfect service. 7.8 Executive Chef – Raminda Premaratne. A person of great talent and a big heart. He manages five restaurants and a coffee shop but still finds time for guest interactions and feedback. His team works with passion and sincerity. Chef Raminda, thank you for your skill and care. 7.9 Hotel management. Over past visits, we’ve met the management at guest cocktails, and this year we again spoke with M Hassan and General Manager Abdulla Fathhey. Every year brings improvements—the Kids Club grew before our eyes, and we're thrilled about the new water park planned for summer 2026. Thank you for your leadership and for enhancing the resort each year. Our holiday left us happy, relaxed, and with wonderful memories—and without doubt, we will return! ❤️
