A long-established dango shop in Osu Shopping Street with a history of over 55 years [Shinjaguchi Main Store]

This old shop [Shinjaguchi Honten] located in Osu Shopping Street is a long-established dango shop at the corner of Niomon Street and Honmachi Street. There is an old man grilling dango over charcoal at the small entrance of the shop. My grandfather is the second generation to take over the business. The first generation founded it, and his mother ran it for 30 years before he took over the business. In addition to freshly baked dumplings, the store also sells rice crackers and senbei. There are two flavors of grilled dango, soy sauce dango and soybean flour dango, and a string of three is 100 yen each, which is really cheap because grandpa carefully takes care of the charcoal fire.
