✓ Nagoya Castle One of Japan's three great castles, the majestic Nagoya Castle was ordered to be built by Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is the largest ancient castle complex in Japan, renowned for its grand main keep and the golden shachihoko ornaments on its roof, symbolizing the authority of the Tokugawa Shogunate. These dazzling features are a major highlight. The main keep consists of the large and small towers, with the large tower standing approximately 48 meters tall and housing multiple exhibition rooms inside. The Honmaru Palace within the castle is famous for its exquisite murals and intricate decorations, representing the pinnacle of Japanese castle architecture with its opulent design. However, the main keep is currently under renovation and cannot be visited. It is reported that the original castle was damaged during World War II and later rebuilt using reinforced concrete. The current plan is to reconstruct the main keep using wood to better restore its original appearance.
