Hodosan Shrine in Nagatoro

In Nagatoro Town, there are 11 shrines managed by the chief priest of Hodosan Shrine. People respect the gods who bestow blessings upon them as they would their ancestors, calling them Ujigami-sama and Chinju-sama, and refer to themselves as Ujiko (descendants of the gods). They hold festivals in spring and autumn to offer gratitude and seek protection, and they hold these traditions in high esteem.
