As a Chinese, when you come to Nagasaki, you will definitely check in at the Confucius Temple. It was built by overseas Chinese in Nagasaki in 1893 (the 26th year of the Meiji era). It is the only Confucius Temple built by Chinese abroad, and it is also the only temple in Nagasaki that transcends geographical relations and is owned by all overseas Chinese in Nagasaki. The architectural style of the Confucius Temple is similar to that of Confucius Temples in China. The main halls have yellow glazed tile roofs and white marble railings, which are magnificent. A statue of Confucius and four saintly tablets are enshrined in the Dacheng Hall. On both sides are large stone statues of Confucius' seventy-two sages, each of which is about 1.8 meters high and weighs 2 tons. The temple also has a "front door", "stone door", "meeting door", "hand-cleansing area", etc., which are pure Chinese-style buildings. There is also a Chinese History Museum in the Confucius Temple, which displays ancient Chinese cultural relics provided by the Chinese History Museum. In addition, the Confucius Temple holds a Confucius worship ceremony on the last Saturday of September every year. The ceremony follows ancient rituals and is presided over by "officials" wearing ancient traditional crowns and costumes. The Confucius Temple is not only a symbol of the unity of overseas Chinese in Nagasaki and the promotion of the motherland's culture, but also an important bridge for international exchanges. It has become a unique business card of Nagasaki.
