Dusk at Wat Pa Phu Kon: Serene Retreat

My journey to Wat Pa Phu Kon, located in the tranquil hills of Udon Thani province, culminated in a 2-hour drive, arriving just as the temple was closing at 5pm. Despite the interior being inaccessible, the temple's exterior and grounds were a profound experience in themselves. Wat Pa Phu Kon, a relatively recent addition to Thailand's spiritual landscape, completed in 2013, is renowned for its striking blue-tiled roof that harmonizes beautifully with the lush greenery of its surroundings. The temple houses a magnificent 20-meter long reclining Buddha, crafted from Italian Carrara marble, symbolizing the Buddha's entry into Nirvana. The temple's isolated location, deep within the forested hills, adds to its allure, making it a serene oasis of spirituality and nature. The tranquil atmosphere, especially at dusk, offers a perfect setting for introspection and appreciation of the peaceful coexistence of man-made and natural beauty. As the sun set, casting a golden hue over the temple, I was reminded of the rich cultural tapestry and spiritual heritage that Wat Pa Phu Kon represents, truly a hidden gem in Thailand. #2024wish

Wat Pa Phu Kon, a place of meditation Located in the Pa Na Yung National Reserved Forest and Pa Nam Som National Park, Ban Na Kham Yai, Ban Kong Sub-district, is a land boundary between 3 provinces: Udon Thani, Loei and Nong Khai. The viharn of Wat Pa Phu Kon It is beautiful and catches the eye of tourists. The viharn is characterized by applied Thai architecture in the Rattanakosin period. Covered with stories about the teachings of the Lord Buddha, around the walls are pictures of the Buddha's history and pictures of the Ravana and decorated with bas-reliefs cast in copper which is the image of the Buddha in all 10 lifes, at the top of every picture It will be carved with the Itipiso chants in dark green on a white marble background. It is considered a unique temple wall, Really impressive Traveling to Wat Pa Phu Kon, It is located 124 kilometers from the city of Udon Thani. Take Highway No. 2 (Udon Thani - Nong Khai) to Km 13, turn left onto Highway No. 2021 (Udon Thani - Ban Phue) to Ban Na Kham Yai, Na Yung District. #temples #roadtrips #nationalpark #unforgettableexperiences
