Experience the World of Mythology in Fukuoka

Munakata Taisha in Fukuoka Prefecture is one of Japan's oldest shrines, appearing in the ancient Japanese texts 'Nihon Shoki' and 'Kojiki'. Munakata Taisha is a collective name for three shrines, dedicated to the three goddesses known as the Munakata Sanjojin. On October 1st, the Autumn Grand Festival (Miare Festival) is held, where a boat carrying the deity crosses the sea, creating a breathtaking scene! Additionally, this year, the Munakata Miare Art Festival 2024 is being held until October 20th, with art installations within the precincts of Munakata Taisha Hetsu-miya (including the main shrine, prayer hall, and rest areas)! It's wonderful to be able to enjoy art while visiting the shrine♪
