Walking around Morioka city

A half-day tour of Morioka city. The reason why I chose to walk around Morioka city is because the ticket price for the Tohoku region of JRpass is high. If you come from Tokyo, you want to take a longer trip to get your money's worth. Morioka city happens to have a one-day bus pass for 350 yen. If you are tired or pressed for time, you can take the tour bus back to the station. Finally, there is a building I like, the "Iwate Bank Red Renga Building", and I want to take a look at this red historic building! The old Morioka Bank main building, built in 1911, was designed and built by the same architect as Tokyo Station. The two-story building is divided into two parts: the Iwate Bank free area and the Morioka Bank 300 yen admission area. The paid area took a lot of manpower and material resources to restore to its old facilities and put up exhibits, such as the old safe, reception room, branch manager's office and conference room. The free area is the main building, the first floor lobby, and the old bank counter. Although we don't understand Japanese, we have fully felt the majestic red brick exterior of the building and the delicate ancient culture presented inside when visiting the free area. It should be the most valuable building in my itinerary this time. Across the street from Iwate Bank Akarengaka Building is the Morioka Castle Ruins. Although the Morioka Castle was destroyed in 1874, the stone walls built during the Warring States Period, the towering Omote-Sanju Trail, the small but beautiful red bridge piers, and the Morioka Historical Cultural Museum kept us busy in the park. We were busy playing snowball fights, walking in the snow, and taking beautiful photos for the internet. When it got cold, we went into the museum to learn about Morioka festivals, take photos with the huge Morioka Autumn Float, and buy some cultural and creative items. Finally, we visited Sakurayama Shrine and went up the stairs to find Eboshi Rock and Nanbu Inari Shrine. The rich and diverse scenery and culture of this park have won our hearts and will definitely make you linger. After leaving the Castle Ruins Park, I looked at the Morioka Center City Land Information I got from the Iwate Bank and felt that I didn't have enough time to experience the charm of Tsuya-cho Kyouma, so I wandered around the city. The first stop along the riverbank was the Oshuji Iwate-gun Morioka Prefecture Castle North Bell, where the fourth lord of the Morioka domain was enthroned in 1679. Because the children were playing snowballs, I could only see it from across the river; then I came to the "Konya-cho Banya" to see the Morioka Fire Station built in 1891. There is a hexagonal high-rise on the two-story Western-style building. It is hard not to notice it standing at the intersection; finally, I came to the "Gozakyu (茣蓙九) Mori no Shoten" founded in 1816, which represents the wealthy merchants from the late Edogawa period to the Meiji era. It's a pity that the old grocery store is closed on Sundays. The short trip to Morioka city ended in a hurry. I didn't have time to visit Uminohashi Nihoju, Fukasawa Akako Wild Flower Museum, Takuboku Kenno Aomura Museum, the former prefectural residence, and Mitsuishi Shrine. I also didn't have time to enjoy the cold noodles of Toya Honten, which I wanted to challenge the most. I jumped on the mountain snail tour bus back to Morioka Station. There are too many temples, machiyas, historical streets and natural culture in this city that call to me. Next time I will make a special trip here and spend a whole day walking around and talking and enjoying the scenery in this historic ancient city. #Iwate Bank Red Brick Museum A must-visit historic site worth visiting #MoriokaCastleRuins The vast and sparsely populated snow scene, recommended for photo taking by netizens #Morioka city is so interesting and worth staying for a long time #2023 Travel Review
