[Shizuoka Prefecture/Okuni Shrine] A shrine with over 1,460 years of history

This is an ancient shrine with a long history of over 1,460 years. It is the Ichinomiya of Totomi Province and a highly prestigious shrine. The deity worshipped is Okuninushi-no-Mikoto. He is considered to be the same as Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, and there is a large mallet object in the precincts! What caught my eye was the sacred tree, Osugi. It was a cedar tree that fell in a typhoon in 1972. The outer rings alone are said to be over 500 years old. There is also a Moriyama-yaki bridge that crosses over to Munakata Shrine. It is a cute bridge with a mosaic-like texture, inlaid with pieces of pottery. Moriyama-yaki is a craft from Morimachi, Shizuoka Prefecture.
