A lesser known gem

#myhiddengems Monte isola is not very well known in the tourist circles. I think this is what makes it a fine nature destination. Often there are places with nature theme but too many people. However, Mont Isola is many things. From my time here i remember it even had a fishing village vibe, the island feel coupled with lots of nature getaways. I remember there were a lot of mopeds and bicycles used here. There are parts of island where cars are not allowed. For a small place it has so many aspects to it. Surrounded by mountains, has a lake. This lake actually sits in a valley known as the Val Camonica.Lake Iseo is truly one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy and yet it isn't crowded like it's contemporaries. In terms of sights to see there is Martinengo fortress, Della seriola sanctuary, the net and memories museum etc. My exploits mostly were in the nature arena. The olive tree walk makes for an incredible stroll with lake views. Trekking to the sanctuary can be a good workout.
