"Little Sanya of Sichuan": A Guide to Spending Winter in Miyi, Panzhihua

Miyi County, Panzhihua is known as a health and wellness destination for Sichuan residents. Surprisingly, many people are still unaware of this! I must share this hidden gem with everyone! ☀️Temperature: We've been here for half a month, and it's been sunny almost every day! The average temperature is 7°-20°C (45°-68°F). It's really warm in the sun.♨️ You can wear a sweatshirt or sweater in the sun, with spring/autumn inner layers.✨ You'll need a thick coat in the shade (same for adults and children). It's very windy in the morning and evening!! Remember to bring a hat.🧢 Attractions 🩵In the city: Mainly Binhe Park and Yi Garden. We take our children for walks along the river every day.🚶🏻‍♀️ The riverbanks are lined with cherry blossoms.🌸 Watch the kayak competition training,🚣 visit the children's beach park, and see Long Bridge.🌉 The riverside night view is beautiful, with river lanterns and musical fountains... 📍Taiyang Lake: Large sandy beach🏖️ for children to play in, as well as swings and lounge chairs. 🩵Outside the city: Terraced fields and Taiyang Valley are in the same direction and can be visited together. It's a 47-minute drive from the city.🚗 📍Miyi Terraced Fields: No tickets required.🎫 They're not very large, but they're still beautiful in the sunlight. You can also enjoy coffee while admiring the scenery. 📍Taiyang Valley: Santorini-style hotel buildings are great for photos. There's also a beach🏖️ where kids can have fun. 📍Zhuanxu Dragon Cave: Tickets are 25 RMB.🎫 Not recommended for young children, as the steps are too difficult to climb. Further afield: Hongge Taiyang Lake Park, 1 hour by car. The park is large, and you can cycle around the lake. 🍽️Food: ✔️Specialty copper pot: Various vegetables,🥬 meatballs, and chicken cooked together and eaten with dipping sauce. I've tried many places, and I don't think there's much difference. The taste is light and moderate. ✔️Kun Jie Specialty Barbecue: The kind you grill yourself on a grid. The dishes are varied and delicious! ✔️Peng Jun Flavor Night Snack: Recommended by two taxi drivers, so we came to try it. It's really good!! ✔️Qiadian Grilled Steak: Charcoal grilled. I think it surpasses most barbecue places in Chengdu!! The grilled steak is the specialty, but it's a bit overcooked. The beef skewers are also delicious! A bit spicy! If you're sensitive to spice, remember to ask for less chili.🌶️ ✔️Yanbian Mutton Rice Noodles 🏠For hotels and guesthouses, the area on the right side of the Anning River, between Binhe Park and Yangliuwan Bridge, is recommended for its pleasant environment. We're on a long-term stay, so we chose a health-focused residential area with a great environment. Almost everyone in the complex is here for an extended stay. The riverside greenway is right outside the door. We buy groceries on foot at the Yangliuwan Neighborhood Convenience Market, and sometimes we drive to the Chengnan Grand Market.
