Miri Oil Well No. 1 - Grand Old Lady

#celebratewithtrip Miri Oil Well No. 1 - Grand Old Lady, is first oil well in Malaysia. Situated on top of Canada Hill, Well No.1, also known as the 'Old Lady' or 'Grand Old Lady'. It represents the petroleum history of Miri which is almost a century old and is one of the place of interest in Miri. It has been declared as protected historical site by the Sarawak Government. There is an observatory platform where visitors can have an excellent view of Miri City. Next to this oil well is Petroleum Science Museum. There is surrounding with historical signage for us to be more understanding how people extract crude oil in old day. Nowadays it is one of place to hang out with friends and family.
