Spain Westward Journey ~ Merida The Roman colony of Emerita Augusta shows us this through this monumental civil engineering project: the Aqueduct of Miracles, which was built in the 1st century BC. To supply the different parts of the urban complex, water is taken from the Proserpina reservoir and it is here that this distribution is carried out in the so-called "water towers", saving the depressions of the Albaregas River.
