Xiewu House in Nan Kou Qiaoxiang Village, Meizhou, Guangdong

Xiewu, also known as "Baoshu Liufang", is located in Qiaoxiang Village, Nankou Town, Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, and was built in 1920. It faces from the southwest to the northeast and features a layout of two halls, three horizontal sections, and a surrounding dragon structure. The building is 69.51 meters wide and 37.79 meters deep; it covers an area of 1945 square meters and occupies about 2350 square meters of land, with approximately 68 rooms in total. The entrance has a wide threshing floor, and upon entering, one finds the lower hall, upper hall, Hua Tai, and surrounding houses, with horizontal houses on both sides. The upper hall is where the ancestral tablets are placed. The house has a wooden beam frame structure, with rammed earth walls on the outside, mud-brick walls on the inside, fir wood tile surface, rammed earth floor, a suspended mountain-style roof for the main hall, and a hard mountain-style roof for the horizontal houses. The main gate features granite stone frames and wooden panels. The central axis is divided into upper and lower halls, with good ventilation and lighting conditions. The left and right corridors are symmetrical, with a rigorous design and reasonable layout. In January 2017, it was announced as the second batch of historical buildings in Meizhou City. In December 2021, it was recognized as the first batch of Hakka Weilong Houses Protection List in Meizhou City.
