Catch the Sunrise over Lake Superior by the Beehive Kiln on the Iron Ore Heritage Trail

Marquette, MI, USA We watched a gorgeous sun rise on Lake Superior at a road side park next to the Carp River. It had a historical iron ore kiln that was once part of the iron industry. Apparently it had collapsed in 2016 and they restored it pretty recently so it's a nice centerpiece to this park with benchs and signs to read about the history of the kiln and how it was used to burn wood into charcoal which then operated a furnace that converted iron ore into pig iron. It's been there for over 130 years and is a big part of that areas industrial past. There is a trail going along the river and under a bridge where people run and bike. We walked down it to check it out and the views of the river opening up into the lake where pretty neat.
