The Liang Dahu Mansion in Xinyi, Guangdong

The Liang Dahu Mansion was built in 1934, facing west to east, with the main entrance facing north. It is a brick-and-wood structure, with five sections separated by courtyards. The mansion is 39.5 meters wide and 56.4 meters deep, covering an area of 2227.8 square meters. It features imitation ancient patterns on the ridge decorations, yin-yang tiles, blue brick walls, and porcelain landscape and bird murals on the walls. The outer walls of the courtyards are decorated with relief patterns of flowers and birds. Each room inside has a loft, and the main door is styled after Western architecture with relief patterns of flowers. The entire mansion has gun holes at the corners of the walls, the entrance, and inside the house. The roof has flying eaves and corners, creating a sense of undulation and a strong three-dimensional effect. The whole mansion is grand and atmospheric yet uniquely appropriate. It is understood that the layout of the mansion is 'five sections and nine rooms with two corridors on each side,' meaning there are five rows of houses (main house) longitudinally, each with nine rooms, and a row of corridors (auxiliary house) on each side laterally. The whole mansion is divided into two parts from the 'passing hall' in the middle, with the elder brother Li Shanxing's family living on the left and the younger brother Li Shanxing's family living on the right. The entire mansion is very compact and meticulous. The auxiliary house has corridors with eaves extending about 90 centimeters, so people can walk inside the mansion without getting wet in the rain. After its completion, the 'Liang Dahu Mansion' was once prominent. It is an immovable cultural relic of Xinyi City.
