Cuba's Internet Struggles

Internet in Cuba is extremely slow and very expensive. Before our trip, we decided to try our luck and each bought two eSIMs—Kolet and Gigsky—thinking it’s better not to put all our eggs in one basket. Kolet is part of the KLM group, while Gigsky is a leading eSIM brand from the U.S., so we thought they wouldn’t be too bad... However, for the first four days, there was absolutely no signal... Anxiety kicked in... It wasn’t until we left Havana and entered the city of Cienfuegos that we finally heard the "ding-dong" of incoming messages—Kolet had connected! We happily used it for two days, but as soon as we arrived at the next city, it completely lost connection again. 😵💫 Gigsky, on the other hand, didn’t get any signal until the eighth day of the trip. Even then, many apps wouldn’t open, and using a VPN didn’t help either—it’s a real mystery! In short, consider "traveling to Cuba" as a form of spiritual practice...
