Russian cultural and art exhibition thousands of miles away

Andalucia Tour ~ Malaga The Great Museum of Russian Art in the city of Malaga is located in an old tobacco factory and, after an interesting restoration, it houses a temporary collection, mostly works by Russian artists. The artists come from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so traces of the flourishing revolutionary spark can be seen in most of their works. It was interesting to see so many artifacts from Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia on display. The political situation has hampered the development of exchanges with St. Petersburg due to sanctions imposed on Russia over the war in Ukraine. Currently these collections are all European collections. There are two cafes serving a delicious range of drinks and food, one located inside the building and the other outside in the leafy inner garden.
