The enchanting Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon

The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the largest and deepest canyon in the world. From Dokar Village in Ganden Township of Motuo County upstream to Jiala Village in Pai Town of Milin County, lies the uninhabited area of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the largest water vapor channel on the Tibetan Plateau. According to scientific investigations, the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon was formed by the movement of the Himalayas and the erosion of the river. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is not only known for its depth and width, ranking first among the world's canyons, but also for its rich scientific content and valuable resources, which have attracted the attention of scientists worldwide. At the point where the water vapor channel of the Grand Canyon moves north, on the northern slope of the eastern section of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains, there is the Karchen Glacier, which is 33 kilometers long; and the Laigu Glacier on the upper reaches of the Parlung Zangbo, which is 35 kilometers long. They are among the longer valley glaciers in China's maritime temperate glaciers, with the glacier terminus extending into the subtropical evergreen broadleaf forests.
