Monolithic Temple around Chennai

Feast for those who are interested in history and architecture. The town was a port dating back to 1st century.. The temples and sculptures were carved out of monolithic rocks. Had a local guide and was helpful to understand a bit of history of Pallavas… the cave temples were sculpted during the reign of Pallavas, around 650 CE. Pallavas ruled the place for almost 600 years. Worth a visit. #monolithic sculptures #monolithic temple
