Phang Ngam Cliff: The Two-Season Cliff at Doi Inthanon, Chiang Mai

My first serious trekking experience was no walk in the park—it was exhausting! But once I reached the destination, it was all worth it. I went to Phang Ngam Cliff without any expectations. Even though I was with a group, as we walked, everyone naturally found their own pace. Don’t worry about feeling lonely; you can chat with anyone along the way. I also witnessed the kindness of strangers multiple times. The initial part of the trail was relatively easy, though there were some steep sections. However, the distance wasn’t too far, so you can take your time without rushing. When I got to the top, I didn’t make it all the way to the summit because of a stiff neck from the van ride (haha). Oddly enough, I didn’t feel any muscle pain from the hike itself. So, I stayed at the campsite instead. Do I regret not reaching the summit? Not really. I wasn’t there to chase a sunrise or sunset. Just being able to soak in the atmosphere and step out of my usual routine made the trip worthwhile. P.S. I visited in 2023 when the trail was temporarily closed for a while. Now, Phang Ngam Cliff is open for trekking again!
