Wat Tha Kham Sop Perng, also known as "Wat Supattanaram," is renowned for its "Wihan Kham," a traditional Lanna-style viharn built in 1864. This structure is a beautiful example of Lanna architecture, characterized by its tiered roof design. In front of the principal Buddha image, there is a Lanna-style wooden pulpit used by monks for delivering sermons. Another highlight not to be missed is the mural paintings inside the Wihan Kham. These murals, created by the Tai Yai artisan "Sang Jale" between 1877 and 1907, depict Buddhist stories such as the Vessantara Jataka, the compilation of the Tripitaka, and local Jataka tales like "Saeng Muang Long Tham." While it may be challenging to identify the specific stories in each mural, the traditional Lanna attire and the unique color tones—red and indigo backgrounds—stand out.
