Madrid first station

It is located at Pl. del Emperador Carlos V, 28045 Madrid. It is the main station in Madrid- the capital's first train station was inaugurated in 1851. The train platforms were partly covered by a roof in the form of an inverted hull with a height of approximately 27 meters and a length of 157 meters, The steel and glass roof spreads between two brick flanking buildings. A modern terminal was built in adjacent land to serve both the new high speed trains, regional and local commuter lines. The station is served by two metro lines, Estacion del Arte and Atocha, where the latter is directly linked to the railway station. Madrid Atocha station is the largest and busiest station, that provides both domestic and international connections linking the capital of Spain to the other countries and towns. It is also centrally located to nearby tourist attractions.
