Madrid's Retiro Park Travelogue

Retiro Park (Parque del Retiro) in Madrid is one of the city's most beautiful and popular parks. I arrived here on a sunny morning, strolling along the tree-lined paths, enjoying the fresh air and leisurely atmosphere. The park is vast, and both locals and tourists love to come here to walk, jog, or relax. Not long after entering the park, I came to the famous large artificial lake—Estanque Grande. The lake's surface shimmered, and rows of small boats gently swayed as visitors rowed, enjoying the tranquil time on the water. Standing by the lake is the magnificent Monument to Alfonso XII (Monumento a Alfonso XII), an imposing statue that attracts many people to take photos. Continuing on, I arrived at the Crystal Palace (Palacio de Cristal). This palace, made of glass and metal, glistens in the sunlight, resembling a fairy tale world. It occasionally hosts art exhibitions inside, while the small lake around it reflects the palace's beautiful image, making it hard to leave. Walking along the tree-lined avenue, you can also see the Rose Garden (La Rosaleda), which is planted with hundreds of varieties of roses, exuding a fragrant aroma and vibrant colors. Finally, I sat on a bench to enjoy the street performers' music, feeling the unique art and vitality of Madrid. This trip to Retiro Park made me deeply feel that this park is not only an oasis in the city but also a part of the locals' lives, bringing unparalleled peace and beauty.
