Standing in front of the Temple of the Sun, feeling the sunlight shining on me, I seemed to be able to touch that glorious history. The Sacred Plaza has been washed by time, but you can still see its former majesty. 🚗 Itinerary I chose the classic Cusco - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu route. I first went to Cusco to acclimatize to the high altitude. There are many ancient buildings and lively markets here, so you can experience the Peruvian culture in advance. Then I took a train to Aguas Calientes, stayed overnight, and took a bus up the mountain early the next morning to catch the most beautiful sunrise at Machu Picchu. 📸 Photo Spots Machu Picchu is full of beautiful scenery and photo spots. The classic overlook offers a view of the entire site and the mountains behind it. The morning sun shines on the stones, creating a perfect light and shadow effect. The Sun Gate is also a must-see photo spot. With Machu Picchu as the background, any photo will look great. Remember to wear bright colors, as they look great against the ancient stone buildings. 🍜 Food Experience In Aguas Calientes and Cusco, you must try the local cuisine. Roasted guinea pig is a Peruvian specialty, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There's also ceviche, made with fresh fish, lemon juice, and various spices, which is refreshing and delicious. The local corn beer is also worth a try, with a rich taste. 💡 Travel Tips Book your Machu Picchu tickets and train tickets in advance, especially during peak tourist season, as they sell out easily. Machu Picchu is at a high altitude, so be prepared for altitude sickness. You can prepare some altitude sickness medication in advance. The weather on the mountain is changeable, so bring rain gear and warm clothes just in case. This trip to Machu Picchu left me with unforgettable memories.
