Lviv was the last city I stayed in Ukraine With its history dating back to the 13th century, it is a city with a rich past. Once part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Habsburg Empire and the Soviet Union, its diverse history has endowed the city with a unique cultural and architectural heritage. Lviv, a large city in western Ukraine, is home to many historic buildings, including those in Gothic, Baroque, Renaissance and Neoclassical styles. The Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known as the "Old Town of Lviv". Notable buildings include the Town Hall, Hagia Sophia, Pozo State Church and Abraham van Hoosinger Palace, among others.
