About Donglin Buddha Donglin Buddha is the world's tallest statue of Amitabha Buddha. The statue is 48 meters tall and made of 48 kilograms of gold, shining brightly. Admission is free, and free tea and vegetarian meals are provided. It is a Buddhist holy site not to be missed. Basic information • Address: National Highway 105, Wenquan Town, Lushan City, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province • Opening hours: 08:00–17:00, closed on Mondays • Admission: Free Transportation • By bus: • Take a bus from Jiujiang Bus Station to Donglin Buddha. The fare is CNY 20, and the bus departs at 10:00 am. • Take a minibus from Jiujiang Bus Station to Xingzi. The fare is CNY 13.5, and the bus departs frequently. Transfer to a bus to Donglin Buddha at Xingzi Bus Station. The fare is CNY 3. • By train: Take a train from Jiujiang Railway Station to Dean Station, and then take a taxi to Donglin Buddha. The distance is about 20 km. Tour route • Xixin Pool: On the left side of the entrance, you can wash your hands first. • Wishing pool: Walk forward to the pool, where you can throw coins and make a wish. • Tour route: Pass through the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Hall of Ultimate Bliss, and the Mahavira Hall in turn, and finally reach the Great Buddha. • Incense: You can get a stick of incense on the way, which is distributed by temple volunteers. • Tea room: There is a tea room on the right side of the Hall of Ultimate Bliss, where free tea is provided. Tea is also available in the corridor pavilion halfway. • Drinking water: There is a drinking water station on the lower level of the Great Buddha, where free orange juice, coffee, sour plum juice, and other drinks are provided. • Divination: The divination at the Guanyin Hall is the most accurate. After divination, you can worship the Great Buddha on the top of the mountain. • Souvenirs: You can get souvenirs and free vegetarian meal vouchers at the information desk under the Buddha statue on the top of the mountain. The meal vouchers are available from 9:30 to 11:00, with a daily limit of 2,000. The dining place is Lianxiang Zhai at the foot of the mountain. Notes • Dress code: Donglin Buddha is a Buddhist holy site. Visitors should dress appropriately and avoid shorts and skirts. • Donglin Temple: Donglin Temple is divided into the Ancestral Temple and the Pure Land Courtyard. Donglin Buddha is located in the Pure Land Courtyard, while Donglin Temple is in the Ancestral Temple.
