The story of the battle to seize Luding Bridge is well-known from elementary school Chinese textbooks, and now you can experience its thrill for yourself. The bridge deck is made of iron chains and wooden planks. The entire bridge is made of 13 iron chains, with 2 iron chains on each side of the bridge railings and 9 iron chains on the bridge deck, which is covered with wooden planks. Walking on the bridge, you can feel the slight swaying of the iron chains. The rushing water of the Dadu River below is terrifying, but you can't help but want to walk back and forth a few times to experience the weight of history.
