It's a place where Buddhist and Western cultures and architecture intertwine. The city is compact enough to explore on foot, so let's start by introducing some of its tourist attractions. 1. Phousi Hill From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Luang Prabang. It's also known as a sunset spot, where you can watch the sun sink into the Mekong River. It's popular in the evenings, so it's recommended to arrive a little earlier. It's located on the city's main street, making it easily accessible. 2. Wat Xieng Thong A Buddhist temple built in the 16th century and considered a symbol of Luang Prabang. Its distinctive roof, with multiple overlapping gables forming a gentle curve, is typical of the Luang Prabang style. The mosaics and carvings on the walls are intricate and artistic. 3. Almsgiving This traditional religious ritual has been passed down for decades by Buddhists living in Laos. It is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia. Almsgiving takes place every morning, and both locals and tourists are welcome to participate and observe.
