Historical town at Lopburi

#songkran2024 Lopburi, a historical town in Thailand, is one of the oldest cities in the country and served as a former capital. It was established in 1350 and, although it has never been overthrown, it was abandoned after the death of King Narai in 1688. The city was partially restored in 1856 by King Mongkut and served as the summer capital. Today, the city is built upon the ruins of the old city. Lopburi is significant for its ties to the old Khmer Empire, with ruins being retained and gradually restored. Additionally, the town is famous for its population of around 10,000 monkeys that roam freely, with feeding restricted to specific areas to maintain control.
