Fujian·Yongding Tulou

"Four stories high, four rings of buildings, four hundred rooms up and down, circle within circle, ring within ring, standing through the vicissitudes of three hundred years." I took a self-driving trip to the Fujian Tulou during the Spring Festival and visited the Fujian Tulou King Chengqi Building and the surrounding tulou. Chengqi Building is located in Gaobei Village, Gaotou Township, Yongding County, Fujian Province. It first appeared in the "Chinese Folk Houses" stamps issued by China in 1986. It is said to have been founded during the Ming Dynasty's Chongzhen period and was not completed until the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi period, taking half a century. To the west of Chengqi Building is the Qiaofu Building, which was built in 1962. It is a three-story single-ring round building. There is a circle of walls outside the building, with an outer gate on the wall, forming a courtyard. This place is also a filming location for the movie "Big Fish & Begonia". This building is famous for producing 11 PhDs, hence it is also known as the Doctor's Building. To the east of Chengqi Building is a square tulou, Shize Building, which was built during the Qing Dynasty's Jiaqing period and was later destroyed and rebuilt. The floor at the entrance inside the building is a model of ancient coins, and the building's design of one door, two wells, three halls, and four staircases is very distinctive.
