Charming China | The timeless Yonghe Covered Bridge

#Mainland Travel Across Xixi River in Anren Town, Longquan City, Zhejiang Province, lies an exquisite ancient covered bridge - Yonghe Bridge. Yonghe Bridge was first built in the first year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty, destroyed by fire during the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, and rebuilt in the 57th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. In its more than 500-year life span, it has been destroyed many times by natural disasters and man-made calamities, but has been rebuilt many times. It is still a channel for residents on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to travel between the two sides, and a unique place for rest and communication. We arrived at Anren Town in the evening. After having a hearty meal at the famous "Fish Head Street", we walked to the ancient bridge to digest the food. At night, the moon is bright in the sky, the water of Xixi River is gurgling, the neon lights are reflected in the water, and the mountains in the distance are looming, creating a peaceful and prosperous scene. The next morning, I came to the river again. The stream was covered with pebbles. A few geese were leisurely foraging for food on the river bank. An old man on the bridge bench was enjoying the winter sunshine comfortably. Time seemed to have slowed down. There are many shops at the bridgehead, and it is bustling with people. There is a wide variety of specialties such as dried bamboo shoots and velvet antler mushrooms. The prices are very reasonable. I just bought a few bags and headed to the next destination.
