Longkou Nanshan Giant Buddha Sangdao Island

The steps to the Giant Buddha are quite high, and it takes some time to climb up. The sun is quite strong in summer, so be sure to protect yourself from the sun, bring enough water to avoid heatstroke. Once you reach the peak, the view is endless. The Jingyu Zen Lodge Hotel within the Giant Buddha scenic area has a very quiet environment and a very Zen-like atmosphere, providing particularly good sleep. From Longkou Pier, it takes half an hour by boat to reach a small island 🏝️ Sangdao, which is said to produce mulberry leaves or, looking down, the shape of the island resembles a mulberry leaf. It is a very quiet little island that can almost be said to be undeveloped. The ferry back and forth is mostly locals, and there is only one sightseeing bus route around the island where you can get off at any time, but the wait for the next bus is quite long. The island is full of volcanic rocks, black and of various shapes, which is very interesting. Just don't play too late, otherwise, the island is really too quiet with hardly any people. Make sure to catch the last ferry back to Longkou city.
