Trafalgar Square, London

Trafalgar Square is definitely one of the most iconic squares in Europe. Located in the heart of London, it has been the scenes of many major events held in the capital. It is also regularly being used for community gatherings and political demonstrations. Located in the centre of the square is the Nelson's Column, holding the statue of Horatio Nelson, the commander of British Navy at the Battle of Trafalgar. There is also a fourth plinth in the northwest of the square. It was supposed to hold the statue of William IV, but abandoned due to lack of funds. The Fourth Plinth Commission was founded and its main task is to guide and monitor the commissions of the plinth. Depending on the time when you visit, there might be different artworks on display.
