A secluded spot just a 1.5-hour drive from Changsha, with green tiles, white walls, and bamboo groves creating a charming scene, as if instantly transported to a Kyoto garden~ 🏡 Mountain Wilderness Aesthetic Space The homestay features a minimalist wabi-sabi style, with simplicity as its charm, extensively using natural wood, rammed earth, and bamboo weaving elements. Every room faces the valley, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking lush greenery. On sunny days, watch the sea of clouds roll by; on rainy days, listen to the rain hitting the bamboo forest. My favorite spot is the tea area in the courtyard, brewing local chrysanthemum tea with mountain spring water—this is true "slow living." 🛌 Poetic Living We stayed in the "Listening to Pines" room type, which has two full-length floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedding is made of organic cotton, toiletries are handmade gardenia-scented soaps, and even the hairdryer is a Dyson! The biggest surprise is the bathtub facing the mountain view, perfect for soaking while stargazing at night ✨ The homestay has excellent soundproofing, ensuring a deep sleep until naturally waking up. 🚗 Nearby Activities • A 5-minute walk to the creek for water play—remember to bring slippers and a fishing net • A 15-minute drive to the First Bend of the Liuyang River, stunning aerial views • The homestay offers seasonal fruit picking appointments (waxberries in June-July, chestnuts in September-October) • Be sure to stargaze with the telescope on the terrace at night; you can see the Milky Way in summer! 🍲 Mountain Wilderness Dining Breakfast features authentic Liuyang steamed dishes and sweet potato porridge, and the housekeeper grinds fresh soy milk. Highly recommend booking the forest candlelight dinner (must book one day in advance), with free-range chicken soup, small river fish, and wild vegetables all supplied directly by local farmers. The stir-fried Chinese toon with eggs is so good I could eat three bowls of rice! 💡 Booking Tips • The homestay has only 8 rooms, so book at least 2 weeks in advance for weekends • Families with kids can choose the "Bamboo Language" family room, which has tatami mats and children's picture books • Visit in May-June to catch the firefly season, but remember to bring mosquito repellent • In winter, there is underfloor heating and a fireplace; the snowy scenery is perfect for Hanfu photoshoots
