Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is a famous hilly city. The houses and streets are built along the slopes, with significant elevation differences. This unique topography has given rise to many funiculars and elevators, the most famous of which is the Santa Justa Elevator (Elevador de Santa Justa). The entrance to the Santa Justa Elevator is located on Rua de Santa Justa. The exterior is a beautiful 10-story Gothic-style structure with intricate carvings and openwork. The elevator itself is made of wood and was completed in 1902. Originally steam-powered, it was later converted to electric power. A ride on the elevator costs €5.3, but it's free with a Lisbon Card. However, if you come too late, you might have to queue, as it is a well-known tourist attraction. The top floor of the elevator is an observation deck with a great view, offering a panoramic vista of Lisbon. It's quite impressive.
