The twin trading towns of the Silk Road and the Ancient Tea Horse Road

Linxia got its name because there is a big Daxia River nearby, as well as the Tao River. Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, with its Eight Squares and Thirteen Alleys, is truly a twin trading town of the Silk Road and the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Returning to the Liujiaxia Dam, one can take a boat to the Bingling Temple Grottoes. 'Bingling' means the residence of a hundred thousand Maitreya Buddhas in Tibetan. Bingling Temple is listed in the Silk Road's World Cultural Heritage.
