The first mountain in the east of the sea, the first of the five towns: Yishan in Dongzhen

Mount Yi is the first high mountain extending inland from the East China Sea. It was called Haidai or Haiyue in ancient times. It is said to be "the first mountain from the east of the sea" and enjoys the reputation of "Mount Tai is the most respected of the Five Mountains, and Mount Yi is the chief of the Five Towns". A national 5A-level tourist attraction, the former Qi Great Wall stretches eastward and westward from here. Huangdi once ascended Mount Yi, and Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty visited it in person. Throughout the Sui, Tang, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the title was increased and the sacrificial rites were not abolished. Literati and scholars of all ages admired Mount Yi and came here one after another to admire the beauty of Mount Yi and compose poems about it, leaving behind many ink and stone carvings. The "Dongzhen Stele Forest" is also a witness to this. There are also many scenic spots in Mount Yi. The Sea-Watching Pavilion and the Sea-Exploring Stone on Jade Emperor Peak are comparable to the Sea-Watching Stone on Mount Tai, and are the best places to watch the sunrise over the sea. The forest coverage rate of Mount Yi is 98.6%, and it is lush and green. The Jade Emperor Peak, Shizigou, Waitougou, Baizhang Waterfall, Dongzhen Temple, Fayun Temple, stone tablets... are dotted among them, which is beautiful and makes it a great place for hiking and enjoying the scenery. The Yishan Cultural Festival and Dongzhen Yishan Mountain Worship Ceremony are held on May 7th every year. I will go to Yishan again next year to broaden my horizons.
