A thousand-year-old ancient town in Guilin that is easily missed by tourists.

Many people miss the thousand-year-old Daxu Ancient Town on the banks of the Lijiang River when they come to Guilin for tourism because it is not in the urban area of Guilin and is not crowded with other scenic spots. It is more than 20 kilometers away from the urban area and is accessible by the Lijiang River. In fact, the traffic in Daxu Ancient Town is not troublesome. It was built in 200 AD, and the houses that are currently preserved show the architectural style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The bluestone slab road that runs through the ancient town for 2 kilometers is very impressive and very photogenic. Small rivers, duckweed, ancient houses, old temples, exuding a deep historical heritage and unique charm. When I visited, it was a rainy evening, which made the town particularly quiet and melodious. There are more tourists during the day, and there are also some local snacks and souvenirs. Not far from the ancient town, you can see the typical Guilin landscape and some villa hotels. History and the present, that mountain and that water, perfectly blend at this moment.
