Tucked away in the depths of Shuhe Ancient Town lies a breathing courtyard

This time in Lijiang, I deliberately started my journey from Shuhe and booked this homestay🏨 with its convenient location—right in Shuhe Ancient Town. The homestay is close to all the attractions, with cobblestone paths, red lanterns, and charming little shops lining the streets. It’s just a short walk away, far less commercialized than the old town. The homestay also features a courtyard🏡—a stunning Chinese-style garden that’s like a painting at every turn. Lush greenery and a gentle stream add to the serene atmosphere, and there’s even an adorable cat🐱 at the front desk. Relaxing in the courtyard, playing with the cat, and soaking in the view is pure bliss—no need to step outside! The service is thoughtful too—a staff member met me at the ancient town entrance to help with my luggage🧳. Complimentary afternoon tea☕️ was provided upon check-in, and the owner was incredibly friendly. The room itself was unique and cozy, with a soft bed🛌 that reminded me of a fairy-tale retreat.
