Liaoyang Wazigou Yingzui Cliff

Wazigou Scenic Area is 20 kilometers away from the city center, and navigation will take you straight to Wazigou Scenic Area, which is only a dozen minutes' drive. First, you pass through Wazigou Village. This small village nestled in the embrace of mountains, with its charming natural scenery and unique folk culture, has become a pure land in the noisy city, known as the 'Little Peach Garden' of Gongchangling District. Wazigou Village is surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one, with a beautiful ecological environment. It is the habitat of the national second-class protected animal, the egret (Wazigou Village Egret Habitat has been featured on CCTV's 'Aerial China')). Every spring, more than 4,000 egrets and herons fly here to breed, and by the end of October, they migrate south to overwinter. As it is located upstream of the Tanghe Reservoir in Liaoning Province's drinking water source protection area, the village has the Warm Sun River flowing through it. Local villagers use more than 30 kinds of fish from the Tanghe Reservoir, such as silver carp, crucian carp, green fish, grass carp, carp, and blackfish, as raw materials to carefully prepare the delicious Tanghe Whole Fish Feast, which is a unique feature of Wazigou Village. There are many fish restaurants on the way to the village, I have eaten there before but don't remember the taste anymore. Upon entering the village, the first thing we see is the very age-feeling Wazi Village Health Center, where we check in. The village is very clean. Driving past, you will see many farmhouses, which are transformed from Northeastern farm courtyards, displaying a rich pastoral style. Here, you can stay in a warm Northeastern kang bed, eat green farmhouse meals, buy local farm products, and even go to the fields to pick fruits and vegetables, or fish around the reservoir. We stopped at an opera courtyard to watch the villagers' Errenzhuan performance, and their self-entertaining and carefree spirit was very healing for us coming from the city. Passing through the village and heading south along the lakeside road, you will soon reach the Tanghe Reservoir, where you can take aerial photos at the Egret Island Viewing Platform. The scenery is like a miniature version of Jiuzhaigou. Online research shows that Wazigou Farmhouse Tourism Scenic Area covers an area of 10 square kilometers, with more than 50 farmhouses. It consists of four parts: the fruit orchard viewing and picking area, the farmhouse accommodation area, the reservoir sightseeing and fishing area, and the folk customs park area. It is a rural tourism resort area mainly for rural experience and ecological leisure. Wazigou is densely forested and produces many varieties of mountain delicacies and wild fruits, such as dragon sprouts, ferns, cat's claws, pen tube vegetables, mountain red, wild grapes, kiwifruit, mushrooms, etc. The valley currently has natural landscapes such as Yingzui Cliff, Xuanwu Cave, City Wall Cliff, and the reservoir, as well as cultural landscapes such as the Heavenly Pool, water storage pool, river dam, leisure square, orchard, and farmhouse. Wazigou has attracted more and more tourists and photography enthusiasts to come here to experience the pastoral style of 'leisurely seeing the southern mountains.' The simple Northeastern rural atmosphere here also makes people linger and forget to return.
