Visit Liaocheng Iron Tower and experience the taste of history.

The Iron Tower is located on the west bank of the Dongguan Canal in Liaocheng, southeast of the original Huguo Longxing Temple. A new Liaocheng Iron Tower Cultural Museum has been built to protect the Iron Tower. The museum is free to visit and uses facial recognition for entry and exit. The Iron Tower itself has no inscription and is not recorded in local documents. From the analysis and comparison of the shape and relief style of the tower, the initial construction period was in the early Northern Song Dynasty. The Iron Tower is an octagonal pagoda-style Buddhist pagoda, currently 12 stories high and 15.8 meters high. The tower base is a stone-built square stacked astringent asymmetrical Xumi seat, 2.90 meters high, 3.17 meters long at the bottom, covering an area of 10.50 square meters. The waist relief has exquisite patterns such as strong men, dragons and phoenixes, birds and beasts, and dancing figures. The tower body is made of pig iron and imitates wood structure layer casting. The first layer has a diameter of 1.53 meters and is stacked layer by layer. The iron shell is hollow and varies in thickness from 6-10 cm. The building has a total of 12 floors, with leaning pillars and bucket arches the same as the first floor. Each floor has a waist eaves flat seat, and the flat seat is all four-paved single-copy calculation heart, surrounded by railings. The waist eaves imitate the wooden eaves and cast the purlins, eaves, flying eaves, tile ridges and oblique ridges. The tower body is divided layer by layer, and the top of the tower is placed with a gourd-shaped treasure bottle.
