Luo Zhuo Wolong Temple: A Pure Land of the Soul, Echoes of History

On that eastern mountain peak, a bright moon rises, The face of an unmarried girl, always appearing in my heart. — Tsangyang Gyatso The moment I stepped into Se Township, Luozha County, Shannan, Tibet, I felt as if I had traveled through time and space, arriving in an ancient and mysterious world. The destination of this trip—Luo Zhuo Wolong Temple, an ancient temple bearing the profound history of the Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism, quietly awaits every pilgrim and traveler. Walking into the temple, the first thing that catches the eye is the staggered architectural complex, with white walls and red eaves, appearing particularly solemn and majestic against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds. Unlike the hustle and bustle of other tourist spots, there is a sense of tranquility and peace here, making people slow down involuntarily and quietly feel the atmosphere. At Luo Zhuo Wolong Temple, I deeply felt the concept of equality at birth and respect for all living beings advocated by Tibetan Buddhism. Around the temple, flocks of crows fly, cows and rock sheep leisurely graze on the slopes, and all living beings coexist harmoniously. What moved me even more was that under the eaves of the temple, nests were specially built for small birds, showing respect and care for life, making me feel the compassion and inclusiveness of Buddhism. The monks here also left a deep impression on me. They were hospitable, and although their Mandarin was not very fluent, they always tried their best to introduce the history and culture of the temple to me. When I asked if I could take pictures, they readily agreed and even warmly invited me to bask in the sun, talk about Buddhism, and chat about life. This equality and respect between people made me feel unprecedented warmth and closeness. At Luo Zhuo Wolong Temple, I also experienced an unforgettable pilgrimage route—the Narosangpu Pilgrimage Route. Although the journey was somewhat steep, the statues and murals along the way were dazzling, as if every step was taken on the veins of history. When I climbed to the sky burial platform and overlooked the entire temple and the ancient pagoda, a sense of solemnity and sacredness arose spontaneously, giving me a deeper understanding and reverence for Tibetan Buddhism. Besides the temple itself, the natural scenery around Luo Zhuo Wolong Temple is equally enchanting. The distant mountains are layered and shrouded in mist, like a moving ink painting. Here, I seemed to find inner peace and tranquility, with all worries and troubles blown away by the wind. This trip to Luo Zhuo Wolong Temple not only allowed me to appreciate the profoundness of Tibetan Buddhism and the unique charm of the ancient temple but also made me deeply understand the way of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, and between people.
