Compared to Chengdu, this World Heritage city has captured my heart.

When Sichuan is mentioned, most people immediately picture the bustling scenes of Chengdu, the Land of Abundance. Chengdu's popularity remains high, but compared to it, I have a special fondness for another low-key city in Sichuan. There aren't many tourists here, the scenery is stunning, the cost of living is affordable, and most importantly, delicious food is everywhere! 📍Location: Leshan, Sichuan 🚗Transportation: It only takes 40 minutes to get there by high-speed rail from Chengdu East Station; if you choose to drive from downtown Chengdu, it will take about an hour. Leshan has a unique charm. Many people from other places come to Chengdu to find delicious food, while Chengdu locals often sneak off to Leshan on weekends to explore its culinary delights. It's really worth spending two or three days here to fully experience it. In addition to the famous Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei, I'd like to recommend a few hidden gems in Leshan that you shouldn't miss. Each one is incredibly photogenic! 1. Leshan Oriental Buddha Park: Don't just visit the Leshan Giant Buddha when you come to Leshan. Next to it, there's a relatively less-known but equally impressive "Kingdom of Ten Thousand Buddhas"—the Oriental Buddha Park. I especially recommend visiting the underground palace. The mysterious atmosphere will allow you to easily capture blockbuster shots with a "Chronicles of the Ghostly Tribe" movie vibe. The unique scenes and lighting effects will definitely make your photos stand out on your social media feeds. 2. Leshan Shawan Tree Fern Valley: This place is like a forgotten Jurassic Park, with tens of thousands of tree ferns from the age of dinosaurs growing freely in the canyon, full of primitive vitality. Hiking here on weekends, enjoying the fresh air and tranquil natural environment, is incredibly relaxing. Moreover, the scenic area only charges a 10 yuan cleaning fee, there are few tourists, and it offers excellent value for money. It's a perfect choice for getting close to nature. 3. Luomu Ancient Town: Most people miss this thousand-year-old town at the foot of Mount Emei when they visit Leshan and Mount Emei. Luomu Ancient Town hasn't been overly commercialized. The people living in the ancient town are simple locals, and it's full of rich cultural atmosphere. Here, you can not only experience the authentic ancient town charm but also capture magnificent views of the Golden Summit of Mount Emei. Especially in winter after it snows on Mount Emei, if you're lucky, you can capture stunning pictures of the ancient town framed by the sunrise illuminating the golden summit. It's definitely a paradise for photography enthusiasts. 4. Leshan Xiaodong: No need to travel to Iceland; you can experience equally stunning scenery at Leshan Xiaodong. This is a rare karst landscape in Sichuan, with spectacular waterfalls cascading down from great heights, majestic and imposing. On sunny days, you can even see beautiful double rainbows in the refracted sunlight, dreamy and illusory, as if you're in a fairyland. If you're visiting Chengdu, set aside two extra days for this low-key neighboring city—Leshan. Trust me, Leshan's unique charm will definitely bring you unexpected surprises and make you linger!
