| Leshan Suji Ancient Town. Leshan is a well-known food capital. About 10 km away from Leshan City, there is an ancient town with a history of more than 1,400 years, where you can find both historical sites and delicious foods—Suji Ancient Town. It is also the birthplace of Qiaojiao Beef, and a hidden gem for me and my friends to relax on weekends. For sightseeing, you can visit: Rugong Bridge—built in the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, a beam bridge, where you can walk on the long stone slabs and feel the passage of time. You can also walk through the streets and alleys of the ancient town, to capture the local life, or sit by the river and drink tea, to relax and watch the flowing water. For food, you can try: Qiaojiao Beef, Ka Cake, Liang Cake, Brown Sugar Cake, Sweet-skinned Duck, Tofu Pudding, and Linjiang Eel Shreds. You can find all the delicious foods of Leshan here. When night falls, my friends and I found a small courtyard, where we had a barbecue and sang songs, and spent a happy weekend together. Suji Ancient Town Self-driving: About 1.5 hours from Chengdu Public transportation: From Chengdu to Leshan, 1 hour by high-speed train, and then about 10 minutes by taxi from the station to Suji Ancient Town.
