If you're talking about a city in Sichuan worth visiting time and again, it has to be the small city of Leshan! There are two main things to do in Leshan: see the Giant Buddha and enjoy the delicious food. The majestic Leshan Giant Buddha is located on the cliff of Lingyun Mountain at the confluence of three rivers. According to records, the Leshan Giant Buddha was initiated by a monk named Tongyuan, and the exact time of its creation is no longer known. It is generally believed to have started during the Tang Dynasty's Kaiyuan era and was completed in the Zhenyuan era of the Tang Dynasty, taking ninety years and three generations of builders to complete. It is hard to imagine that in ancient times, with only manpower available, a 71-meter-tall stone-carved Buddha was created. Over these long years, it must have faced many difficulties and dangers. Today's Leshan Giant Buddha has been in existence for over 800 years, but unfortunately, the Buddha pavilion, which served as protection, was destroyed during the Song and Yuan dynasties.
